The original design was cluttered, text-heavy, and visually inconsistent, which made it difficult for users to quickly find key information.

Problem

Before

Key Challenges

  • Limited control over component spacing and styling

  • Cvent's lack of responsiveness led to more iterations of homepage logo formatting

My Approach

  • Guide attention clearly or show what to click on first

  • Communicate warmth and professionalism tone

  • Reflect the refreshed branding and paraeducator enthusiasm

After

What I Improved:

Visual hierarchy: Replaced large paragraph blocks with clear sections and scannable content, so users can orient themselves immediately.

Layout structure: Added wave branding element to create an easier page flow and guide the eye down the page.

Button consistency: Standardized all CTAs to a single style and eliminated the mix of filled and outlined buttons in the original.

Card grid balance: Refined spacing and alignment across all six navigation cards for a more polished look.

White space: Opened up the hero section to reduce cognitive load and let key content breathe.

The result was a more professional and cleaner homepage that effectively informs and communicates the credibility and scale of the paraeducator conference, resulting in a $14,000 increase in revenue and a 3% rise in new event attendees.
